Za’atar is a very popular spice in the Galilean kitchen. It is used as a seasoning for meats and vegetables and can also be sprinkled on humus or labaneh or mixed with olive oil and eaten with pita bread.
The story behind this product
A venture selling fair trade products. Olive oil, honey and spices produced by Arab farmers and Arab women from all over the country. Along with the production of soaps, the women teach various handicrafts as part of workshops held in Jewish-Arab cooperation.
All profits from their products are transferred to programs to promote the status of Arab and Jewish women. What began as a mission to create a connection between Arab farmers and the Israeli market, has became warm bonds and lasting friendships between Arab and Jewish women.
